The students that are posting bad things about the school are probably the ones who are always getting into trouble. As a former student of this high school I know it is a great school. North Carolina excels in education. Living in a different state now, and seeing how their grade school education is makes me appreciate the education that I got at NSHS because the students here are not getting a good education. They are being taught things in High School that I was taught in 5-7th grades. So students, appreciate school while you can. You will miss it when you are out. Also enjoy the fact that you are not having to pay for it either. When you get out and go to college it will be completely different. Perhaps it is you who needs to make the change. Just because you can't get your way doesn't mean it is a bad school and that the teachers are pushovers. It means they are teaching you discipline and responsibility to help you in the real world outside of high school that you will need for the rest of your lives. GO GREYHOUNDS!!!!!!

this school doesn't care about the students, the principal and teachers all they care about is getting the students through school without having them to dropout, yall see they get graded as well that's all they care about. these people will do things behind your back, and then you will find out later.

I can not believe how some people have wrote wonderfull reviews about this school. The school is simply horrible the teachers are pushovers, most of the kids are forced to attend while principals are dictators.

I try my best to be objective and base opinion on facts versus feelings. I have NEVER felt that either the old or new principal at North Surry intend to be dictators. At the end of the day they are responsible for MANY students and have to consider the good of the whole student body versus my child alone. My child participates in activities both academically and athletically outside of North Surry and has performed well in comparison to his peers, so I have to believe that NSHS is preparing him appropriately. To anyone who has a concern about NSHS, I suggest that you reach out to the staff and considerately approach them looking at your concern "big picture" and if they do not respond in a considerate way that you then post the details of course leaving out student names. I personally know how hard it is to leave out emotion when it involves our kids but I do believe that if we treat the administrators as we want to be treated then we will in turn see more consideration from them. Respectfully...
