they have really bad communication between faculty and parents, also they are very money hungry..the school charges for everything. After school make up time is $5 a day,& you have to provide your own transportation. Even when the child brings in doctors note, the time missed is still counted against them.

My experience so far at this school has been great. I love the band program, which has been given the opportunity to go to Normandy, France in 2019. There are only 4 bands in the US that have been selected to honor our veterans at the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. All of my teachers have cared for each student, even though our teachers are rarely shown any respect by students. I love our AP program, and all of the staff is supportive and will try to assist you with any issue you have, if you let them know and tell the person best equipped to help you.

No one at the school can return phone calls. It is really hard to find out what is going on with your child when they don't care enough to return your call. No one is available when you drop by either. I am not really sure what they do all day. I guess they only care about the popular kids.

By far the worst school I have ever seen. Students are extremely homophobic, and openly ridicule each other constantly. The teachers were for the most part okay but the guidance counselors were extremely unhelpful and straight up disrespectful and hostile towards students. The only thing the administrators or staff are concerned about is the athletics department. I've seen many classmates chewing tobacco in class and teachers are clueless. I've heard various students express racism and intolerance to each other. They use foul language and are hateful and the school itself is disgustingly unclean. The bathrooms were so unsanitary and there were multiple occasions in which feces were found in the urinals and in the middle of the bathroom floor. It was more like going to a zoo then going to a school. If you want to ensure your child is safe from verbal or physical abuse and is happy in their school, avoid north buncombe.
