North Lawndale

North Lawndale is a storied neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side. The area is home to many historic structures and holds the greatest concentration of greystones in the city. North Lawndale’s K-Town Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the neighborhood’s Sears, Roebuck and Company Complex is a National Historic Landmark. These designations celebrate the days when Lawndale was a hub of economic activity where Chicagoans of all stripes found opportunity. As efforts are made to preserve these structures and bring new industry to the neighborhood, the community builds toward a new future.
