North Mayfair

I've lived here for 4 years now and have loved it since the day I moved in. The neighborhood is wonderfully walkable with unique grocery stores, the CTA brown line and numerous excellent restaurant all tightly packed into this neighborhood. Two different Metra lines are within 10 minutes of me and, as someone who likes to travel, I appreciate the easy access to O'Hare. Beyond urban amenities Albany Park has LaBagh woods to the west and Ronan Park and the North Branch Trail on the eastern border. When the city noise and concrete gets to be a bit much it is wonderful to have these peaceful and expansive green areas so close by. Arguably the best part of living in this neighborhood is that I know my neighbors, something I have not often experienced living in Chicago. I've found people to be friendly and caring even if there's occasionally a language barrier. There are a number of community organizations in the neighborhood dedicated to making an Albany Park a better place to live and their efforts show! In short, I can't think of a bad thing to say about this neighborhood.
