Around North Morrison

The housing supply is somewhat limited in this small community, but homeowners in any part of NoMo are a short walk from all the exciting things happening around Morrison Drive. Residents near I-26 may have to put up with some noise from traffic.

While the neighborhood’s facelift has increased prices, homes in NoMo are still quite affordable compared to urban markets elsewhere that have undergone similar transformations. The handful of homes for sale on any given day are typically suitable for a midrange budget.

Restaurants in NoMo approach their craft with a creative flair, offering surprising dishes to celebrate the community’s quirks. The Tattooed Moose, for instance, offers a bucket of corn dogs to complement their extensive craft beer menu. Butcher & Bee is a favorite among vegetarians and meat-eaters with pulled squash sandwiches, locally sourced seafood, and more. In the smoked meats arena, Lewis Barbecue and Home Team BBQ compete for local appetites on the same block, and NoMo residents win.

Young professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists frequent local businesses. Residents work inside new developments for innovative companies. Former warehouses contain gyms and breweries. Despite the changes its undergone, NoMo hasn’t lost its sense of community.

The Tattooed Moose is the bar of choice for many locals looking for a casual night out, while Edmund's Oast offers an experience that’s a bit more upscale. For live music, check out The Royal American.

Parking and driving is actually quite manageable here in North Morrison, but you’ll want to be mindful of the meters and tow signs. Anyone will tell you that Charleston does not mess around when it comes to doling out citations. Some bus service is accessible from the area, but public transit isn’t terribly convenient.
