Northeast Los Angeles

Northeast Los Angeles is a region of LA located between downtown and Pasadena, encompassing the neighborhoods of Highland Park, Cypress Park, Glassell Park, Eagle Rock, Atwater Village, Montecito Heights, and Mount Washington. Often referred to by locals as NELA, the neighborhoods that make up Northeast Los Angeles are situated among the green hillsides of LA and are home to Victorian, historical Craftsman, Mission Revival, and midcentury modern style homes. The eclectic neighborhoods of NELA offer cafes, boutiques, and a wide range of cuisine, and have long attracted a diverse crowd of residents, from artists and musicians to industry professionals. Northeast Los Angeles offers a quieter atmosphere than many other parts of the city, surrounded by the outdoors that these hillside communities provide while still within an easy commuting distance of downtown LA.
