AWFUL. The Principal is a terrible leader. She is rude and aggressive to both parents and kids. She is uninspiring and fails to create any sense of a warm and welcoming elementary school environment and community. Its a shame as the school building is very nice and teachers are generally strong but the poor and nasty leadership outweighs the good.

The worst. We are glad we left and now we are in a better and Safer school

I believe this school is perfect for my child. The curriculum and community is by far the best I have seen.

Now that my childs time at this school is coming to an end I wanted to share my 5 years of thoughts with other parents considering this school. My fair and honest review will be broken down into 3 categories: The Physical School, The Teachers, & The Principal. The School, PS267 - 5 stars. The school is new, so compared to other schools in nyc its by far one of the better ones. Clean brightly lit and wide hallways & class rooms, clean new bathrooms, new windows and heating. Also a large gym on the top floor for physical activities both during the day and after school. Unfortunately the backyard play area is way too small for the school. The physical structure is overall very nice. Its kept clean and safe. The Teachers - 5 stars. Theyre are all very good. We have been in this school since 1st grade and each year the teachers have shown professionalism and caring across all students. They are attentive in many ways, and good at breaking students into groups, working on their strengths and weaknesses. Test prep was also good. The only thing as parents we wanted more of was homework as the daily load seemed very light and didnt "push" students to excel. Friends who had children in the premier upper east school, PS6, had bigger homework loads and higher overall test scores. The Principal - 2 stars. The biggest reason I would NOT recommend this school to other parents is dealing with the principal, Madea McEvoy. She is simple unbearable and 100% unfit to run an elementary school. She is rude, abrasive, and blatantly unfriendly. A number of parents have left this school for other elementary schools while we have been here, and I can see why. Essentially, the only reason people say nice things about her is either because theyre afraid of her or because they dont want to speak badly about their own childs school.Maybe as an educator/teacher she would be ok, but the DOE should remove her as principal asap. If you cant, or dont want to, deal with a principal who has a big Napoleon complex, & does not know how to deal with kids OR parents I suggest you try another school district.
