Ls3 is although a small high school but it comes with great opportunities. The school offers AP classes on top of the traditional course subjects such as AP Bio and AP Statistics. The school has great arts programs such as choir, art and band all these classes offers advanced classes where students showcase their talent combined with classroom techniques at private shows and competitions. It also has many internship programs and career affiliations like natural museum of American history and Mount Sinai they also offer college credit classes at hunter college. Personally I’ve participated in some programs such as the mount sieni programs and summer internships at research labs and I’m not sure many schools would offer such the teachers are also one of the many enjoyable aspects the school offers. The teachers are not only concerned with the numbers the student present but they get to know each student as an individual and carter to them on the level suited for the student they also serve as adults any student can go and talk to bring it personal or academic.

Ls3 is a school where you will find a variety of cultures. The school consists of friendly faces that are pretty welcoming for high school students. You will make friends with very interesting students from all walks of life. The school is not extremely small, but small enough where you feel like everyone is an annoying sibling you love to death. Teachers! Administration! Counselors! make Ls3 very unique. You will not find a more caring staff that is devoted to educating and bettering the future of their students. Most teachers are caring, passionate, and approach teaching with many different styles. Classrooms always feel like an open space. Our staff even comes on Saturdays for tutoring to give extra help. Lastly, what makes LSSS so unique are the academic opportunities that are offered. We have pre-college classes with Hunter College, partnerships with Mt. Sinai, courses at the AMNH, musical summer programs such as NYSSA, All City Choir Chorus, and annual trips to Hamilton!

Trash school, the guidance counselor is horrible, her only concern is to paint the students in bad colors and make every little thing look like a major disruptive event, teachers are lazy and only keep students out of the classroom so they do not have to deal with them, ridiculous uniform policy and stupid logo stuff.

This school is great. There are a handful of kids who need to get kicked out, but other than the that the school is fine. There are many clubs you can join, teachers give you one-on-one attention. The students are always engaged and over 96% of them attend class each day. This past year 2014, over 90% of seniors graduated on time. That is great! The school has been improving over the last few years and it's all up hill from here. A few things like principal involvement with students and teachers can be improved with the principal getting out her office a little more then once a week to scream at students. Other than that the 9 out of 10.
