I didn't realize what an amazing high school I went to until I got older. I graduated from Boyertown High School, got my BA at Temple University and now live in Colorado with an amazing job and can afford an awesome lifestyle. Thanks Boyertown Senior High for putting me on the path to succeed.

Graduates are well manner, considerate and the majority go on to college. Facilities are a bit aged compared to other district but that is starting to be remedied particularly with the rebuild of the highschool

Well firstly, I must agree that the school does have a wide variety of activities. But the rest of the school is horrible. The phys ed is excessive as we probably exercise more than adults do, the homework is ridiculous as if our life has to revolve entirely around school and nothing else. To add onto that last statement the school is infuriated by absences, I'm sorry if school is more important than health or dental hygiene; here let me throw up or groan or sneeze all day and get everyone else sick because school is so much more important than personal health. The lunches look horrible, and taste that way too, I personally was refused lunch even though I was only minus by 1 or two. Don't worry. They were kind enough to give me around five orange slices to get me through the day. The teachers.... in half my classes I haven't learned anything, no one is teaching anything. If someone isn't good at it fire them, and if someone is just doing it for the simple money fire them. The budgeting, don't get me started. New laptops for students who barely use them outside of school. Just buy new laptops for the school, how easy is that? The construction (on soon to be multiple schools) they're doing this all at once instead of rationally in little bits. I swear Reading has a better budgeting system than Boyertown does. The supporting of sports, from football to golf. A bit of a waste of money, don't you think? Why not focus on other important clubs besides sports? But I guess sports is love sports is life here in Boyertown no matter how much we suck. Lastly student scheduling, class all the way on the other side of the school? Mean teacher won't tolerate being late? You can't just push through the kids, then you have a suspension on your hands. Just absolutely ridiculous.

Boyertown Area Senior High School is a terrible school for children with disabilities. I understand that some have many good things to say about the district regarding this topic, however these parents seem to be parents with an outward or well documented medical condition. Those parents who have a child with ADHD or emotional needs suffer the worst as ADHD often only qualifies for a 504 plan and emotional needs are subjective. The 504 works well until high school. At this point the HS takes the stance that success is up to the student and bail on the 504 plan. It was a long hard fought battle with the district that only created a bigger divide by trying to help my child. With no child left behind the district never intended to ensure a child graduates with the skills needed but rather just pass the children through. I inquired with other parents and found this a common complaint from them as well. Boyertown has many lawyers on standby to fight against you and it takes a lot of time and money to fight back. The documentation however helped with the college search to explain the low GPA and test scores. Federal funding for Intermediate units are being cut and phased out. too.
