Hoover El School

Our family's overall experience at this school was disappointing. The administration is incompetent. Inquires are not taken seriously. The teachers are bossy and burnt out. There is no opportunity to learn a foreign language. The playground is dull and the kids spend many of the recesses inside. If you can, send your child to private school. If I could do it over again, I would.

There are many terrific things to say about this school. It is smaller with continuous parent involvement, and bright and enthusiastic teachers. Classrooms are spacious, fun, and inviting. The kindergarten does request parent volunteers to accomplish more via smaller groups. It works and does not come with a comparable private school price tag. We have been excited to watch our son develop academically so quickly and his love of going to school. His teacher is challenging and a superb leader of young children. The tone of the principal's correspondences has been inexcusable. Over halfway through the school year my son missed his 1st day of school. Her letter to us used the word "unlawful" 5 times. It was an unexcused absence, but under Stalin it feels like a felony. All parents received a letter recently stating that the parking regulations have not changed from the beginning of the year. Why is it so hard to say, "Hello parents, I love seeing your children at this school everyday. For their safety please remember to follow the drop off/pick up procedure published. Thanks so much!". Keep in mind, otherwise Hoover merits 4.5-5 stars.

Both Camp Hill Elementary schools are 5 STARS! Amazing teachers, phenomenal academics, unbelievable parent involvement, great community, and small class size. Can't beat them in public schools.

There is a ton of teaching done at this school which has been moved to Hoover Elementary school. I have attended the school before and I learned to read there by a TEACHER. I have no idea what the person who wrote the review down below is saying. This school is great.
