Fort Washington El School

This school is ran by a fantastic principle; it has great energy and always performs well.

The school is over-rated and ok at best. There are some teachers that are very good and you can tell they really care about education. That being said, the more visible teachers are a joke and the kids that are lucky enough to get into these classes are obnoxious towards the other kids. the older they get, the more insulting they are to the other kids. While teachers preach against bullying, they themselves are the bullies. While I understand a teacher would have favorites, it is a DISGRACE that they should show it to the children. The new principal is practically invisible, although, in her defense, she is doing the work of two jobs...being the technology director. There is plenty of opportunity for parent involvement if that is for you. The building itself is old and disgusting. When your child comes home on a semi regular basis with giant cockroach stories and mouse stories, I'd say there is a problem. But SHHHHHH don't mention any of the above. They'll call you negative.

FWES IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY SON IS IN 5TH GRADE AND IS SAD TO LEAVE. :( BUT WE ALL LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!! GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided on where we wanted to live in Montgomery County based on objective and subjective criteria in terms of the schools. After we decided on Upper Dublin School District, we moved to Fort Washington specifically so that our daughter could attend FWES. She is finishing her fifth year there and we have never doubted that it is one of the best decisions we have made for her.
