The school is awful. As a student going there now, I'm bullied daily. and the curriculum is just plain awful. They focus mainly on sports and good grades, not if the students are learning anything. The principals do nothing for discipline and the guidance office does NOT help at all.

In my opinion, Freeport Sr. High School is a great school. Every school district has issues with common interactions such as bullying. I can assure you, looking from the point of view of a student AND a staff member, instructors and faculty deal with these issues as much as they possibly can. Freeport is no longer a blue-ribbon school, but it still provides an adequate learning environment to all students. This school has programs tailored to suite almost any subject, and teachers are more than willing to help students in need. People may disagree with this, but when you realize that teachers are not the omniscient beings that they are not made out to be. If a student asks for help, they WILL find it. FHS is a small, public high school, a detail people need to realize. I've heard people comment about things down to lunch prices. Prices may be steep, but district wide, there are many discount options, and the cafeteria management is always flexible with account balances when they can be. The administration of this school does have it's issues, and I do not deny that. The curriculum, admittedly, does need work, but it is improving.

People who are saying that Freeport is a horrible school do not realize that no school can be perfect. I have had many teachers who have really cared about their students and others who are there for the pay check. The teachers that cared were great. I had to take bio in college and almost everything we did in college i already had learn most of it in honors bio at freeport. College is going to be harder than high school. As far as the bullying problem. I had problems in elementary school, but not in high school at all. If you ignore it, it won't turn into a big problem. I was highly involved in music and the music department was like a second family. People want to be prepared for the real world. Well no one is going to hold your hand in the real world so learn to take care of yourself in high school.

Bullying is a major problem, fights happen more than they should, most teachers do not teach, guidance is not helpful. Lunch prices here are the highest in the county and $30 per 9-weeks for a parking pass. I cannot recommend this school at all.
