I am currently in the choral program at Norwin. Strictly talking about the ***majority*** of the music department, I completely agree with the student who posted in July 2013. I only see 2 major flaws: the over-competitiveness mentioned by the student from July 2013, and the lack of a GOOD anti-bullying policy. Yes, they have one, but they don't enforce it enough. Or maybe it's just not good enough, I don't know, I haven't read it recently. Either way, Norwin really needs to step it up with the anti-bullying and step it down with the competition/competitiveness.

NO GIFTED PROGRAM. Way to care about your best and brightest Norwin, shame on you! Put some more money into that stadium!

Norwin teachers do not treat the kids well at all. They are very strict and they are so competitive. They want to win but sometimes that is too much. Norwin does have a great music program but you have to be willing to put in the effort.

This school has a great music program, and challenging academics. Most teachers are good. A few are great. I have found that there is little parent/teacher/administrator communication, and problems are ignored. Parents are not considered important. Students are not treated with respect. There are ridiculous, nit-picky rules, probably created by not treating students with respect. Add to that the enormous volume of homework; 4-6 hours per night, much more on weekends and holidays. Graduates have told me they have an enormous amount of free time in college and can actually relax.
