Kittanning Junior High School

Having went to over half a dozen different schools before graduating, I think I have something to offer here. Don't get me wrong. I really liked this school. Some of the nicest kids I knew growing up went here. But, with that said, I also have to call a spade a spade. Some of the meanest kids I grew up around also went here. I simply cannot look past the 5 years where I was bullied by over 20 different people - nearly all of of whom went to this school. On and off school property, mostly off, these bullies inflicted pain upon me which nobody should ever have to endure. Not just verbal "picking", which was a daily thing. If you dared to stand up for yourself, you were made an example of. You were ganged up on or beaten quite viciously. Yes, I've been beaten to the point of being bloody and had broken bones. Oddly enough, some of these same people are teachers now. Pennsylvania is way behind the times compared to other states when it comes to bullying. KJHS is a perfect example of this. The policies are vague, general and watered down. They are mocked, and it shows because nobody takes them seriously. Once I started going to school in other states, my life improved tenfold.
