Eastern Lebanon Co Senior High School

As a graduate of 2011 and a current college student I can wholeheartedly say that, compared to some schools in the area, ELCO is an alright place to attend. However, for college preparation, the school does a poor job at having students seek outside of schools like Millersville, Lebanon Valley College, and HACC. You travel a few miles west and Cedar Crest is sending students to Ivy League schools and well respected and known places. ELCO has sent one student in the past (as of my submission) 16 years to an Ivy League school (Penn) and that was because he was a wrestling star. There is no real encouragement at ELCO to strive for anything. The majority of teachers provide a lackluster performance and students do not complain because it is easy for them. Standardized test scores (and by this I mean the SATs) are abhorrent and far more time is spent complaining about how pointless they are than simply focusing on improving them. The administration does not see a problem because most students, graduates, and parents don't have much to say because they just don't understand how much better other schools manage and guide their graduating students.
