Strath Haven High School

I attended any ivy league university after attending this school. I found the school did not adequately prepare me for the level of work that was expected at college. In the end I did okay, as did most of my peers who went to good universities. But that is mostly because of our privileged background.

For a kid with a learning disability this school is horrible, they refuse to lower their college prep standards to help a kid out. My child goes to this school everyday as a victim, with education, teachers putting them down and being attached by students. They should be ashamed of themselves.

If you aren't an alpha, an athlete, artist and honors student, the others will scorn you. The school is full of well off, high achieving kids, and if you aren't one, they will not give you the time of day. The administration is horrible, especially now that Dr. Yannacone is leaving. The only good thing is the teachers.

involved kids (hard to find a kid who isn't involved in at least one extracurricular activity; committed faculty, staff and coaches;involved parents (maybe a little bit too much -think afterprom); great graduation rates and college admission rates; hard to imagine paying private or Catholic schools when our tax dollars support such a great public school experience.
