In 2003 I completed my student teaching at Northeast High School and was very honored to be able to come back as an appointed teacher in the subject of Italian. Our school is divided into SLCs (small learning communities) and my community is the Magnet program. As a teacher in the Magnet community, I have the pleasure of working with a fantastic group of motivated learners and an equally fantastic group of dedicated teachers. We all make it our mantra to apply Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships to our teaching experience. Rigor in our lessons, which challenges our students to push out of their comfort zone and into a higher level of academic achievements. Relevance in our teaching so our students can find their learning meaningful and retainable. And last but not least relationships, because it is extremely crucial to get to know our students and allow them to feel seen, heard and understood. Getting to know our students not only helps us as educators to reach them better, it also allows the students to gain the most out of their four years under our instruction. I truly enjoy coming to work here at Northeast and seeing my students every day! We provide so many wonderful opportunities and outlets for our students. I feel that we have created a wonderful place for our kids here at Northeast and I’m proud to be a teacher here.Northeast High School Italian Teacher

It's a very difficult and horrible school, albeit adverse, you constantly get bullied and harassed by other students if you're not sociable. The curriculum is pretty bad and the teachers/staff don't put much effort to help their students. Suspensions are at an all time high, for minimal reasons. There are many more things I can complain about my first two years at this school, but it's just not worth it. I do not recommend this school.

Ok this school is horrible ,the staff is very rude and the teachers a always delayed on their grades .You can get suspended for simply holding your jacket! My friend who is Muslim was asked where is her uniform shirt. My other friend had a head wrap on and was told that she wasn't allowed to come into the room unless it was taken off .This school does not really help u grow, the school had mice running in the lunchroom it's just horrible .Oh and the lunch ladies are very good ,if u speak up about something they won't feed u at all !

Theres many classes they offer that most schools don't, culturally and religiously diverse, theres a lot of different clubs for everyone. Overall I feel my education has grown significantly since I've been at Northeast.
