Pittsburgh Sunnyside K-8

So far, I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. It's a great school, honestly. Some flaws here and there, but I love every minute of it. It's a shame next year is my last year, but I will always be back to visit!

Amazing, better than we had anticipated as parents.

I have been at this school for 5 years now and the experience has been quite bad. The behavior of other students is disgusting, and inappropriate. The people's behavior slows down most of our learning and people cause unnecessary drama. Part of our class has also caused our music teacher to have a mental breakdown. The atmosphere of the school is horrible, a classmate found cigarettes in the computer lab and most of the time there is urine on the bathroom floors which is absolutely disgusting. Also in some cases the teachers don't give us homework for over a month. The principal is also not effective with discipline as well as the teachers. For physical and verbal harassment people will only get under a week of suspension, if not then nothing at all. Overall my experience has been horrible and I am going to get removed asap.

My boys have attended this school for the last 2 years. They are currently in kindergarten and 2nd grade. I am so impressed with the way the principal, Ms. Dadey is able to keep order in this school while still maintaining a warm, welcoming demeanor with students. My interactions with other students at the school, including those in 6-8th have all been positive. The teachers are friendly and dedicated to the academic achievement of all of their students. I would highly recommend this school to parents in the area.
