Pottstown Senior High School

My experience at this school was Terrible!!!!! An awful nightmare. Teachers didn't care at all. Nothing changed since then.. only got much worse.

The art and music programs at PHS are fantastic. This year's musical is The Little Mermaid. I've seen the previews, and I am so excited to celebrate the creativity and talent in our high school. These students work and achieve every day. These students know the neighboring districts have financial advantages, but Pottstown students, teachers, and staff rise above the haters and create magic. Thank you Pottstown, you have something others envy, You have creativity, passion and hunger.

Being a student at PHS vs a parent is very different. On a daily basis immature teens are seen running around in the hallways and looking for reasons to stay out of class. Many students, but not all are disrespectful and see no problem with their actions towards a staff member or student. Many students now come from the inner city and distant towns. This does not help with drug related problems and violence that occur at our school. Many students do the bare minimum when it comes to work and show lack of enthusiasm daily. My recent review was deleted. It's sad that people cannot handle the truth of our school.

My daughters are both taking AP classes. My senior has numerous scholarship offers, and accepted a great offer from SJU. Her classmates have scholarships from Villanova, F&M, Lehigh and Dickinson. US News has Pottstown ranked at the state and national level. The school offers attention and opportunity. I do not feel the current rating system on GreatSchools captures the environment at Pottstown. The teachers and students have chosen success, and I applaud them!
