Hate this school; LGBT+ students are singled out and bullied often. I haven't gotten a responce on what bathroom I should use since I asked LAST YEAR. Outrageous and dissappointing.

I am a senior here at Wilson High School. I started in the district in the first grade. While Wilson students learned to read in Kindergarten I was doing shapes and colors. This set me back as a new student to the district, but Cornwall Terrace made me a confident smart young girl and I fully credit that to the teachers, but I know many of those teachers have left and many young women are now there and I am unsure if my experience would be the same now. Middle School (Southern) for me was a breeze, great teachers, great support system, again unsure if that is still the case, but Middle School absolutely did not ready me for high school. I was shocked by the work load and difficulty to learn. Teachers in the high school are much less involved I find it difficult to have an individual relationship with them and many lack simple teaching skills in this very main stream system. They did not prepare me very well for college. The college process is overwhelming and I had to go through it myself. I reached out for help from a counselor and got very little in return, but I know of a few very helpful counselors that my friends had. My final warning is, Wilson loves athletics. There are a lot of egos a lot of cliques its a very stereotypical high school environment. Athletes get perks no doubt specifically football. There's a large range of wealth from welfare to riches and there is no doubt in my mind that the privileged white students run the social aspects of the school. What saddens me the most is the potential we have to be special but students are too afraid to stand out.

I would like to start off that I am not writing out of anger, but honesty. Wilson High School has hired many teachers who fail to teach students who learn in multiple ways. Instead, the teachers only teach the way they want to and blame the students for failing. It is even questionable at times if the teachers even have teaching degrees. In addition, with the new chromebook addition to the curriculum teachers have decided that the students can now teach themselves and use the chromebook more than teaching their own class. For example, Campbell and Noyes. Also, teachers will take tests from online sources to "save time" when it only fails to really test the students. I would recommend home schooling your child. Can't hurt because they will get either the same education or even better.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE IF THEY ARE LEARNING DISABLED . WILL OFFER EMPTY ENDED CHOICES , POOR READING AND MATH INSTRUCTION . POOR CAREER OPTIONS FOR LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL. AS FAR AS ANTI-BULLEYING ,IGNORES INCIDENTS AND FAILS TO INVESTIGATE AND FOLLOW THROUGH.
