This is our second year with the school. My son's kindergarten teacher was phenomenal, and my son made tremendous strides during the year both academically and socially, and developed a strong sense of self-esteem. This year, he received a unique medical diagnosis, and I seriously considered teaching him at home to best address his needs. But his teachers, the school nurse, the guidance counselor, the entire administration, all showed me that they are willing to bend over backwards to make Pleasant View the best place for him to learn, and they have proved correctly. His teacher and the administration are all extremely accessible, and they never make me feel like I'm being a nuisance, or one of "those" parents. I genuinely feel that they care as much about my son and all the students as we the parents do, and I feel like he's in great hands while he's at the school.

As a former student to this school, I cannot help but be miserably disappointed. As a younger child with ADHD, I was, well, a handful. Despite this, many of the teachers and the principal, the one at that time, never really understood or wanted to deal with me or my conflicts. Therefore, I was the one usually getting in trouble for the most annoying reasons. The teaching here is an absolute joke, as it is in the whole district. All that is getting done is teaching to STANDARDIZED TESTS. That's the whole idea. By wasting resources and our tax money, they promote the most god-awful idea of "educational excellence" I've ever heard. As a student, I excelled in every class (which isn't hard), yet apparently difficulty isn't present in any of their schools at all. I practically teach myself (or get my parents to teach me) new things that I may one day USE in my life. Having to see my brother come home and complain about these tests just leads me to teach him important information that is USEFUL. Bullying is a huge issue here; it will not be taken care of, or treated unfairly.

Pleasant View is a very pleasing school, the teachers are very helpful. They have a new RESPECT program that you can't miss. Their counsler has a lesson with every class every month and tries to prevent bullying. They have put some hard work in trying to make this school run properly.
