This school is okay. First off, the principals sound like a very good people to be running the school. This school also received the national blue ribbon award, so the education is good. The principals run the school properly, and they do not allow bullying. However, I have experienced some very rude teachers in the process. My homeroom, reading minor, and science are good. All the rest are rude, selfish, and just very mean. I have been pointed at by some of the teachers, and those teachers do not even allow you to talk in class. On the way the school itself runs, it bad. If you talk in a fire drill, they will issue you two detentions. Also, the school was built in 1937, which means it is 75 years old. The school smells, so if you have respiratory problems, it would be a good decision not to go into the school as you may get splitting headaches and even pass out.

This school has its good and bad points. The good: there are some incredible teachers there that truly motivate my daughter and help her achieve her true potential. The bad: there are just as many teachers there that have no business being in education -- they are truly terrible - incompetent, lazy, and self-righteous. And, unfortunately, building administration does absolutely nothing about it. On top of that, while the district talks a good game about issues such as bullying, they do absolutely nothing. My daughter has had repeated issues where she was bullied, yet trying to get admin to do something about it has yielded no results. Little wonder that there have been several student suicides in the district over the past year.

The SF 8th Grade Center is a hidden crown jewel to be discovered. They have consistently achieved top scores in PSSA Math and Science. If you look into the 8th grade PSSA ranking in 2010, 2011, and 2012, they have beaten the performance of other "top school district", say TE, Great Valley, Unionville-Chadds Ford... The reason that SF district has been rated low lies in its senior high school performance. It is very puzzling to me why our top performing middle school students could not keep it up in 11th grade PSSA. The SF board and management has a lot work to do with senior high schools' leadership and teachers!
