If you have a child with special needs, do not send them to this district. Staff by their own admission is not trained with special needs. The special education department bullies parents in the IEP meetings and pressures parents towards as much autistic support as possible. They administer unfair psychological testing that is sure to support their argument that kids with autism need to be segregated from the general student population. They rely on pressure and manipulation to avoid inclusion. Parents are left with the choice of giving in or pulling their child out to home school. Despite their PR about anti-bullying, my typical child was beaten up by several other children. I've observed the discipline system which I would describe as punitive with very little positive reinforcement. My friends and neighbors who can afford it all send their typical kids to private schools. As the other parent said, it was a good school but is going downhill fast.

For years this school was great, but it is going down hill fast, along with this school district. Parent communication is lacking along with community involvement. The principal there doesn't make phone calls home. I don't agree with that management style at all. Most of the teachers are still pretty good; but it's all about whose in charge.

Lehigh Township Elementary is a well balanced school in regards to the staffs ability in identifying the needs of their students at all academic levels. I am very impressed with the 'Challenge Program' where students with a greater academic ability are offered an opportunity to excel their skills to higher levels. All of the students receive a balanced education with a common target of overall academic improvement on a state wide curriculum. The students truly enjoy their stay at Lehigh Elementary and always speak positively of their teachers and experiences even after advancing to the middle school. As a parent, I have a very satisfying comfort level that my children are receiving a very good and thorough elementary education at Lehigh Elementary.
