Excellent! I had two students graduate from Rustin and both went on to good colleges (one even got a full scholarship). Found class sizes were good, access to resources was good, teachers were engaged, and students all seemed to get along (regardless of "social standing").

My child is new to BRHS this year. Let's just say I approached my child's guidance counselor in Sept.to discuss mental health issues that were going on. Felt like I was bothering him and now 6 months later I can tell he now realizes that my concerns were real ...a little to late now.

To the previous poster, how can you complain about the counselors but then say that your kids got into great schools? At some point they must have received some "guidance" in that department or else they would not have made it that far. My interactions with them have always been pleasant & helpful and I work in the community so I don't even have a child there now. I see Rustin as a great example of combining academics, arts, athletics, and community support. Great staff from top to bottom along with outstanding parent involvement makes Rustin one of the top high schools in PA. Very proud to be a partner with the WCASD!

I am the parent of 2 students that graduated in "08 and '11 and I have a senior graduating in a couple of weeks. All 3 of my kids have gone onto (or going onto) great colleges due to the hard work that they accomplished but also the great teachers, coaches and mentors Rustin has afforded my kids. I could not have been happier with the education recevied at Rustin. My one small complaint is (as the previous comment mentioned) the counselors. In terms of helping to direct the kids they were not helpful at all, everything "gone over" in their senior meeting with them only confirmed what they already knew, it was not a true consultation of what they can now do with the success they had achieved. It didn't take long to realize that we would get no direction as to finding a good fit for college, that was all us. But due to the wonderful experience at Rustin as a whole I believe they have been given the tools to succeed at college.
