The best thing about EYHS is the community. This is because of teachers who treat the students like family and will go above and beyond to help any student who is having difficulty who is also willing to do the work. Switching schools can be a horrifying thing but the easygoing an open nature of the students made this transition a breeze and made me glad for the change. Everyone in all of my classes are all just wonderful and friendly people, the culture that the students have built is that if you are in our class we are going to accept you and be your friend. What needs to change is the principle Timothy Mitzel, repeatedly he has talked a big game about how rules and new policies need to be followed, then he just doesn't follow through. Since I have never had disciplinary actions taken against me, these big announcements that he makes are the only times I have any interaction with his authority, and when he doesn't follow through on what he says, his authority just becomes a joke.
Low due to administration more than teachers. Lack of desire to actually help students with issues. Would rather punitive measures that hurt student in succeeding.
.Lacks support of the marching band and has little appreciation of the students that put in the hard work to represent this school. There are This school falls extremely short compared to other schools in the area. Also the alert phone messages you get on you home phone from the Prnicipal are not at all accurate and your calls are not returned you have questions regarding that message. The parents are mislead ..due to inaccurate messages.
Seems like a good school, my kids are doing well and have a great attitude. What this school needs is to concentrate on is their marching band. It is really embarassing how other schools compare..this I do not blame on the band members or directors they are so strong to put up with what they are given and deserve better. The band IS important they represent the school. Times are tough..yes BUT what does it take to give a pat on the back?
