Pacoima is mostly residential with a couple of industrial zones in its northwest and central areas. The central area includes Whitman Airport, which only serves small aircraft so airport noise is minimal. Home prices and styles are pretty much the same throughout the entire neighborhood.

Pacoima has authentic Mexican food everywhere, including food trucks, as well as locals selling fruit with tasty spices on the sidewalks. This neighborhood is definitely a paradise for lovers of Mexican cuisine as it is the main attraction in this community. There are also a few ridiculously enticing and aromatic BBQ joints scattered throughout the neighborhood.

Many people out and about on foot, gathering and socializing with other residents of the neighborhood. Pacoima is home to Hansen Dam, a large expanse of uncultivated land where you'll see plenty of plant life, including sage. There's also an aquatic center where residents go to cool off on hot summer days. You'll see kids splashing in the pool, racing down a waterslide, or boating on the lake.

Pacoima has its fair share of nightlife, and many people love to check out the clubs to dance the night away until dawn. There are also a plethora of dive bars, local watering holes, and taverns where you can go and be jolly with your fellow neighbors.

Enjoy a stroll or jog along the top of Hansen Dam. Head over to the aquatic center and take a boat out on the lake for some fishing. You can also get some kayaking and paddle boating in while you're there. Enjoy some snacks in the picnic area while you cool off in the shade. Hansen Dam is also a very popular destination for horseback riding.
