Palencia's amenities are spectacular. The 18-hole, Arthur Hills-designed golf course is highlighted by an impressive 33,000-square-foot clubhouse. The Palencia Club offers members-only and public dining options, a full-service pro shop, and banquet facilities. Across the street is Palencia's Village Square, home to a number of retail and convenience stores. Residents can swim and play at the nearby aquatic facility, which includes a family pool with a two-story slide and a lap pool with eight lanes. The fitness center is luxuriously decorated and boasts state-of-the-art equipment, aerobics rooms, and another eight-lane pool. For outdoor exercise, residents can walk or run the miles of trails that wind through the community or head over to Palencia Park where there are baseball diamonds, a basketball court, and a soccer field. Younger children will have a blast at the pirate-themed playground. Palencia Elementary School was built within the community to meet its growing kindergarten through 5th grade needs. It is part of the St. Johns County School District, which is one of the most highly-regarded districts in Florida.
