About Parks Estates
Parks Estates is a subdivision in the northeast corner of the East Dallas neighborhood. Most of its 52 homes were built in the early 1920s and feature the original architecture of that era. Only a handful of streets wind through community and are lined with mature trees on well-manicured lots, which makes for a very quiet neighborhood.
Parks Estates is across the street from the Lakewood Shopping Center which has several great independent restaurants and a pub, but its “hidden gem” is the Balcony Club. The Balcony Club has been a mainstay of Dallas’ jazz scene since the late 1980s and is cherished for its intimate setting and performances seven nights a week.
Public transportation in the area is limited to several bus lines which run along major thoroughfares. Residents typically rely on their cars to get around, but most daily errands can be completed nearby as there are grocery stores and many retail services within a 10-minute drive. Commuting to downtown Dallas is about a 25 to 35 minute trip by bus or 20 minutes by car.
