Although the neighborhood mostly features modern condominiums, a handful of single-family homes can be found throughout the neighborhood. Pulaski Park's condominium options are mostly recently refurbished, so many of the units here are turn-key. Living along the southern end of the neighborhood puts one along Division Street and near all the bars and restaurants that the area is locally famous for. What the western and eastern ends of the neighborhood lack in dense shopping options, it makes up for it in convenience, as Ashland Avenue and Interstate 94 border both sides of the neighborhood.
Although Pulaski Park offers only a handful of restaurants (which are concentrated along Ashland Avenue) the surrounding areas more than compensate for it. Along Milwaukee and Chicago Avenues in Noble Square, you'll find Cuban, Middle Eastern, Thai, and upscale American fare. La Pasadita, just south of the Division Blue Line stop, is a well-known taqueria that has been open since 1976. Just to the west is Wicker Park, which has one of the most eclectic and exciting culinary scenes in the city. If you're having a craving, just head to Wicker Park's Six Corners. You'll find your fix in no time.
A majority of Pulaski's Park activity centers around the neighborhood's main park, where locals can casually watch a pick-up game organized by locals, picnic in the green space, or go for a swim in the public pool. For the most part, life in this neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, where homeowners are happy to be just arm's length from the action of the city.
Head to a show at the Free Street Theater, which is on the northern end of Pulaski Park and has been in operation since 1969. The Chopin Theatre is also a popular live performance space and is located on the southern end of the neighborhood. Head to Division Street in Wicker Park for some dinner and bar-hopping, which has plenty of options for continuing your night. There are also some dive bars scattered throughout the area for a quieter, more relaxed night. Whether you want to attend a gallery opening, go clubbing, or have a candle-lit dinner, just head west.
The neighborhood's park is the obvious choice for a Sunday picnic or a quick stroll around the area. Head to Division Street, Ashland Avenue, or into Wicker Park for all kinds of brunch options. There are also plenty of locally owned stores in the immediate area, so your Sunday shopping trips are just a short walk away.
