Around Quail Valley

At the heart of the community are its two golf courses and 25,000-square-foot Missouri City Center at Quail Valley. The courses are recognized as some the best in the Houston area. The elegant, modern center is home to the pro shop, a number of banquet rooms, and a full-service restaurant. Quail Valley's Recreation and Tennis Center is another large, modern facility on the north side of the community. It is host to many Missouri City Park District programs. It boasts 13 lighted and fenced tennis courts, a full sized gymnasium, and batting cages. The fitness center has the range of equipment that serious exercisers expect. Though the golf courses and fitness center are open to the public, residents receive discounts on memberships. The park district maintains several wonderful parks and a trail system within Quail Valley. The parks feature plenty of playgrounds, picnic areas, and fishing ponds. Sta-Mo Sports Complex hosts many baseball and softball games at its 11 fields. Walkers and joggers can enjoy a light snack along the Edible Arbor Trail. It's a little over two miles long and has an amazing array of fruit- and nut-bearing trees. Canine residents have their own green space at Kitty Hollow Park, featuring play areas for both large and small dogs. Schools in the area are part of the Fort Bend Independent School District. The closest elementary schools are Armstrong, Quail Valley, Lexington Creek, Glover, and Lantern Lane. Middle schools include Quail Valley and Lake Olympia, and the closest high school is Elkins.

Thanks to the park district and a number of active clubs, there's so much to do within Quail Valley. Kids can join 4-H, take tennis lessons, or learn karate at the Rec & Tennis Center. The Quail Valley Swim Team competes in youth meets throughout the year. Seniors have several exercise programs to choose from, including Tai Chi and strength training. They also have art classes, day trips, and more offered every month. A great way to explore the nearby parks and trails is to take advantage of the park's free bike rental and take a leisurely ride around the community. There seems to be a club for everyone in Quail Valley. The Quail Valley Mom's Club is really active, planning dozens of fun family events, as well as charity drives and supper nights. Missouri City Green participates in many community beautification projects and recycling events. The Quail Valley Wine Society meets once a month for camaraderie and tasting new wines. Other active organizations include the local American Legion post, a garden club, and an exchange club.
