Homewood is a wonderful school for my children. We've been enrolled here for over four years. Each year, administrators and staff have reached out to families to bond with, improve school functionality, and education standards. The staff are like our 'extended family'. My children are cared for like loving aunts and uncles:-) The principal is a phenomenal woman with a great sense of compassion and leadership!!!!

I am withdrawing both of of children from this school. I agree with the May 2011 post about the Principal and Assistant Principal.Since my children have gone to this school (2009), there have been several problems throughout the years. The teachers for the most part are great, but I get a sense of a "gag order" policy. Bullying is not dealt with appropriately. There is not a "NO TOLERANCE" policy enforced as stated in the policy. It is strictly selective enforcement, I believe they are trying to hide most of what's going in that school for fear of investigation. I would advise staying away from this school if you you do not what your child/children to be bullyed or exposed to inappropriate behaviors that are overlooked by this staff and school. I also agree with the May 2011 comment about the children being in fear of both principals. Just recently (last week) we had a issue with my daughter being bullied, this was the third time addressing this issue with the same student, we never received a report from the school and after I left the office my daughter was called back to the principals office and it was very intimidating to her. She was made to believe, it was her fault.

I have children that go there and they have attended since they were all in kindergarten. At first I was very pleased with the school and the teachers. The last few years I have been having some issues with staff members and the principal. It seems the staff moral is low and I am POSITIVE it is the principals fault. She needs to get off her high horse! Most days she is unapproachable when you have a concern or an issue and it is bad when one of my children have a problem and they are afraid to talk to her about it or the teacher in fear of getting told don't worry or something else along those lines. Also there is a front office staff member that is VERY rude most of the times I go in there to either get my child or to sign in for a function. If she is not going to be polite there is no need for her to be working the front desk with parents going in and out.
