Serenbe

About Serenbe

Serenbe has received a great deal of attention and accolades from national and local media since its first home was built in 2004. It’s been praised as a “paradise” and a “utopia” in several articles and has been classified as an “agrihood” and a “wellness community” in others. It’s even described as “biophilic”, meaning “living in harmony with nature.” Its residents are likely to emphatically agree with all of those terms. Serenbe has been expertly designed to create a strong sense of community while strictly adhering to sustainability and natural conservation practices. Serenbe is an amalgam of “serenity” and “be” and the numerous awards it has won demonstrates how successful it is in living up to its name. Serenbe has four pocket communities referred to as hamlets, and each hamlet is dedicated to a supporting pillar of a fulfilling life: nourishment, wellbeing, awareness and inspiration. At Serenbe’s center is The Crossroads where there is a collection of gourmet restaurants, boutiques, a bakery and a general store. The hamlets and The Crossroads are connected to each other by paved roads and also by a network of footpaths designed to make it easier, and much more enjoyable, to walk rather than drive.
