Sierra Estates features a large swimming pool with a clubhouse. Fulton County School District serves the area. Renaissance Elementary, Renaissance Middle School, and Langston Hughes High School are a five-minute drive from Sierra Estates.
Fairburn and its surrounding communities have quite a bit going on. Fairburn's park district provides a full menu of organized sports for youth and adults, after-school programs emphasizing S.T.E.A.M. and fitness classes hosted at its four parks. Not far from Sierra Estates is Douglas County's Boundary Waters Aquatic Center which offers two large pools and is home to a youth swim team. It's on 500 acres of land that also features hiking and horseback riding trails, disc golf and a huge sports facility that hosts Little League baseball and football. For movies, shopping and dining out, residents usually head over to Fayetteville, Peachtree City or Newnan where there are several theaters, a multitude of restaurants and shopping malls. Farmer's markets, seasonal and holiday celebrations, parades and civic activities are presented by Fairburn and each of the adjoining communities. Several amphitheaters, Wolf Creek, Southern Ground, and Frederick Brown, are in nearby towns and within a 30-minute drive of Sierra Estates. Between them, they cover just about all of the major music genres and host local and national acts. The Georgia Renaissance Festival has called Fairburn home since the mid-1980s and keeps growing in popularity.
