Around South Tampa
South Tampa's waterfront along Bayshore Boulevard near Ballast Point is dominated by canopies of storied trees and Spanish moss. South Tampa has numerous eateries catering to upscale clientele including elegant steakhouses, Italian Bistros, and artisan cuisine. At the same time, the neighborhood also offers a wide range of more affordable options of a variety of different ethnic backgrounds – everything from Thai to Turkish dishes can easily be found here.
Recreational cycling is a popular hobby in South Tampa, so expect to see a good amount of bikes around every corner. While the moss-laden trees are a constant sight, the occasional skyward glance might yield the sight of a jet flying over en route to MacDill Air Force Base, granting an impromptu air show. The neighborhood's waterfront also lends one of the city's most idyllic views.
