Around Southeast San Diego

Southeast San Diego has several residential areas that include Mt. Hope, Mountain View, and Broadway Heights all the way to near Paradise Hills. Most professionals love to live beyond Broadway for the ease of transport to downtown San Diego and proximity to many fine dining eateries and entertainment sports. Chollas View and Ridgeview areas are quite hilly. The breeze and sunset view makes them great areas for outdoor patio dinners. The homes across the community are significantly more affordable than many of the other neighborhoods in San Diego. Most of these units are single-family homes but there are few multi-family complexes in Southeast.

Head to 4th Avenue for some Brazilian cuisines and salads. Down G Street are several American steakhouses offering goat ribs and a vast selection of wines. Alternatively, you can experience traditional Filipino dishes in one of several restaurants down Broadway. The Balboa area also has several fast food kiosks serving tasty pizza along with several cheese dishes. There are African dishes as well as Chinese and Armenian delicacies in several restaurants dotted across the community.

Large crowds especially around the entertainment spots and theaters. Most families can be seen taking their children to school. There is a cultural awakening in the community and many more people are volunteering in making the community clean and green. You are likely to meet with groups of youths cleaning up the sideways or planting more trees.

Head down Broadway for a night of live music and great seafood. You can also opt to pop in in one of the clubs hosting karaoke nights in the area. Heading north past Broadway on Fifth Avenue is the House of Blues, hosting live shows as well as musical and dance classes. All along F Street are upscale hotels where you can enjoy bowling, pool, or a cocktail.

Head down West Harbor Drive to Martin Luther King Jr, where Promenade Park is on hand for some relaxation among well-manicured, lush green vegetation and water fountains. In the afternoon, head to the Children's Museum down First Avenue for some fun with the kids. Grab a ball for added fun in the park.
