Excellent residential options abound in this mid-sized neighborhood. There are comfortable homes and subdivisions on either side of East Side Drive next to the University. Also next to the University is the the Blunn Creek Nature Preserve on Saint Edwards Drive. Travis Heights is a beautiful neighborhood with big backyards, oak trees, tire swings, and nature trails all within minutes of downtown.

Food trucks on Congress Ave. are a favorite go-to for locals and tourists alike. Try deep fried avocado or authentic fish tacos. The key word with food truck dining is authenticity. Each truck is devoted to a different themed food with workers dedicated to honoring the culture of the cuisine.

Despite the party vibe of Congress Avenue, this neighborhood is an area that likes to keep the commerce in the commercial areas and the residential area is quite separate. Sunday mornings are quiet and peaceful, characterized by joggers and strollers. There are ample hiking opportunities, and many families just enjoy spending the day on their front porches, playing basketball in the driveway and enjoying their time with neighbors. Gardening it's also a very popular pastime in St. Edwards. St. Edwards also features some of the most visually striking scenery in the Austin metropolitan area. The college itself is situated on a large cliff, commanding an amazing view of downtown and its environs. The Blunn Creek Nature Preserve follows the winding course of the waterway, providing enjoyable hiking and biking activities. If you follow the creek from Saint Eds you will come to one of the most delightful swimming pools in all of America: Big Stacy, and the children's version, Little Stacy. They are perfect places to swim and picnic away a hot Texas summer. In between the two swimming pools are 3 acres of beautiful park to enjoy picnics with the family.
