Despite the party vibe of Congress Avenue, this neighborhood is an area that likes to keep the commerce in the commercial areas and the residential area is quite separate. Sunday mornings are quiet and peaceful, characterized by joggers and strollers. There are ample hiking opportunities, and many families just enjoy spending the day on their front porches, playing basketball in the driveway and enjoying their time with neighbors. Gardening it's also a very popular pastime in St. Edwards. St. Edwards also features some of the most visually striking scenery in the Austin metropolitan area. The college itself is situated on a large cliff, commanding an amazing view of downtown and its environs. The Blunn Creek Nature Preserve follows the winding course of the waterway, providing enjoyable hiking and biking activities. If you follow the creek from Saint Eds you will come to one of the most delightful swimming pools in all of America: Big Stacy, and the children's version, Little Stacy.
