Around The Lakes At Cedar Grove
As its name implies, the main feature of the Lakes at Cedar Grove is its five lakes within its boundaries. The largest lake is big enough to support fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. On either side of it are the community’s amenities parks. The spacious clubhouse hosts many of the homeowners’ association events and is available for private events. With ample parking and a landscaped event lawn, it is ideal for family parties and club meetings. Across the lake from the clubhouse is the swimming pool, complete with a resort-style slide. The cabana has a wonderful covered patio for cooling off and relaxing. The amenities parks also include playgrounds and courts for tennis and basketball. The Fulton County School District serves the area. Renaissance Elementary, Renaissance Middle School, and Langston Hughes High School are the closest schools to the community. There are also several private schools nearby.
Activities in the community mostly center around its great amenities. Residents can easily fish off of the dock, take a walk, or go cycling along the community’s trails, or spend time at the pool. Outside of the community, Fairburn and nearby Douglasville have extensive programs at their parks. They feature youth and adult sports programs, fitness classes, and modern facilities. Day-to-day errands are easy to complete with several grocery stores and shopping centers within 10 miles of the community. The homeowners’ association coordinates a number of private events for residents. Its top event is Jazz on the Lake and Arts Festival which brings in great local musicians and artists for an afternoon of performances. There are also quite a few holiday parties and occasional game nights. There are nearly a dozen venues within a 30-minute drive that present a wide array of entertainment. Wolf Creek, Southern Ground, and Fred Brown, for example, are amphitheaters offering up great selections of musical acts throughout the year. Camp Creek Marketplace is about 20 minutes away at I-285 and has a large movie theater and quite a few restaurants and bars to choose from, so a casual night out is easy to plan. Of course, some of Atlanta’s major attractions, such as the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, The Fox Theater, and Six Flags Over Georgia are easy 30-minute drives from the Lakes.
