At the core of the neighborhood are several shopping malls which feature high-end department stores, trendy boutiques, and restaurants. Though Downtown Nashville is about 10 to 20 minutes away, Green Hills has a very quiet, suburban vibe to it.

Around Green Hills

The inventory of homes in Green Hills is an eclectic mix of old and new. The oldest homes can be found mostly in the northern portion of the neighborhood near West End Avenue, with newer construction gradually being seen the further south one travels through the community. There are also a handful of condominium complexes sprinkled throughout Green Hills, with most of them being along the Hillsboro Pike south of the malls.

Home prices in Green Hills range higher than nearby Nashville neighborhoods such as 12 South and Hillsboro Village. Quite a few of Green Hills’ homes are priced over $1 million and a handful of luxury estates are $2 million and up. There are many more moderately priced single-family homes, townhomes and condos spread throughout the community, but they are still higher than Nashville’s average home price.

Lot sizes in Green Hills tend to be slightly larger than in other Nashville neighborhoods, so you’ll see homes on spacious lots with mature trees and landscaping along quiet streets. Homes will be a charming mix of one-story ranches, classic brick Georgians and upscale new construction. There are a number of grocery stores and retail services near the malls in the center of the neighborhood, so you’ll find a lot of activity there.

The famous Bluebird Cafe is tucked into a little strip mall on Hillsboro Pike just south of the larger malls. Some of the biggest names in country music have performed on its intimate stage, so fans flock there to hopefully see the next big country star. Reservations are highly recommended. For a relaxed night-out, dinner and a movie is easy as there’s a 16-theater movie-plex and a half dozen restaurants at the Mall at Green Hills.

Fox’s Donut Den and Noshville Delicatessen are two great ways to start off a Sunday morning. Fox’s has been around for over 40 years and is one of the best donut shops in the US. Noshville serves up authentic New York-style deli meals, so bring an appetite. Sundays can be really busy at the malls but finding something to do is pretty easy just by heading to Downtown, where many of Nashville’s world class attractions are.

Hillsboro Pike/US-431 gets commuters to Downtown Nashville quickly and easily, whether they go by car or bus. Nashville International Airport is just a 15-minute drive away. The area is not terribly walkable or bike-friendly, so most residents get around by car.
