My experience with most of the teachers and students has been positive. There are a lot of low income kids attending the school. So sometimes their situations are tough. But from what I can see the school does well for the situation they have. I also think it is very positive that they offer bilingual Spanish/English education. The only complaint I have is that the librarian is not a welcoming person. Maybe it would be better to hire someone who is more positive. But other than that I think the school has a lot of things to be proud of!

I am the parent of a special needs child at this school. Our family falls outside the demographic norms of this school. We are white professionals in a school where most children are Hispanic or African American. Almost all of the students at this school are economically disadvantaged and a majority have limited English proficiency. We have been amazed by this school. The staff are kind to us and our son. The faculty are attentive, driven to succeed and dedicated to their students. The administration communicates clearly and respectfully to us and to all of the parents. We enjoy going to school events. We find our son's classmates to be kind to him, respectful to us. This is a safe school, a caring school and an academically successful school. The scores of the students at this school on standardized tests bely their economic and language disadvantages.
