Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy

The new Principal has indeed brought many needed improvements to the school, making it a better environment for all. The previous Principal was a joke. The one consist thing at Garcia is the Special Needs teaching. I continue to be impressed with the work Mrs. Phillips does with her Special Needs students. I could never do the things her job requires for one day, let alone year after year. I wish all teachers could be more like her.

I have some updates on my last review. With the new principle there has been some well needed improvements.There has been much more rewards for good and more appropriate punishments but they still need work.As an 8th grader iv'e noticed the school doesn't have much recognition for its good achievements. Many times my teacher has told our honors class that we got best scores in the entire district in math and reading multiple times but we were never recognized.The school still has some outstanding teachers and with a little more work and focus it could be a great school.(Good and getting better)
