Named for Dr. Lilburn Howard Colley, who moved from Missouri to the area to practice in 1880, Colleyville was officially incorporated in 1956. What was once a farming community has since grown into a suburban oasis of plentiful neighborhoods with spacious lots and lush lawns. While a multitude of businesses thrive along Highway 26, Colleyville is overwhelmingly residential and is quite popular among those who wish to live in a more laid-back environment while remaining close to all that the DFW area has to offer.
