Our children attended this elementary school and it was a wonderful experience. Wonderful staff and great curriculum, while allowing kids to be kids too. Love the location and the community.

My son has attended this school for 4 years. Teachers are top notch. I'm impressed with professionalism. My son is a happy student at Hamilton elementary.

The demands in regular class are harsh - every week spelling, long math homework, long science homework, and long reading/editing homework consume all of our after school time. Hamilton is an intense self-driven education model. They put very little on fun, engaging projects and field trips. They make my son finish up work during his 30 min lunch and recess. My son is now physically and mentally sick with anguish because of the pressure they are putting on him without recognizing his limits. They should be nurturing his gifts and talents (he's in the top 5% in the nation for math per STAAR, yet struggles with their methods of teaching math). They seem detached, lack strong individual communication with parents, and in a year and a half, I have never seen the principal interacting w/ students and I have lunch w/ my son at school every Friday. While the 10 rating may be accurate based on STARR testing, I would not give this school above a 4-5, docking most points for poor communication, frustration tolerance, unmanageable workload, and lack of awareness of their own issues. Something is broken. And I do not say that lightly.
