George Peabody Elementary School

I am not certain about this school, however I do teach at a DISD "Oak Cliff" school, which is not a compound word, to the narrow minded parent who wrote the comment about coloring between the lines. My experience ranges from an exemplary campus in Keller ISD to where I am now, teaching in Oak Cliff, so I have seen it all. That parent's type of ignorance is heard by his/her child, and the irony of it is, no matter what type of "superior" education that child receives on the other side of Dallas, he/she will always be a caged bird, with jaded lenses for the world. *Also, my students have a range of higher order thinking skills and propel each other forward in research and real-world reasoning. Please don't believe what this ignorant parent reviewed. This school has to be above average if it is leaping over low-economic, at-risk hurdles to reach the precious children in these areas.

It scares me that the parents who praise this school can barely form a sentence. If you can color in between the lines in an Oakcliff school you will be gifted and talented.

I am a former student of George Peabody,I had a daughter who attended Pre-K thru 6 grade and now I have my youngest daughter attending there as well.For what my daughters have learned and brought home to teach us parents as well, I give great appreciation to the staff at George Peabody.The fact that they have very little recreation at times does not concern me at all for the teaching and well being for my daughter makes up for it all .... The community tends to support the fact that our childrens teachers make a difference on how the respond to challenges to move forward and continue to strive for great success.Great stories and memories of the this school and I'm PROUD that I attended and that my girls did too .. GREAT JOB PEABODY STAFF !!! OH,AND MRS.COLLINS WILL STILL BE THERE FOR A LONG LONG TIME !! LOL

I consider George Peabody a hidden treasure. Although this blue ribbon school is located in Oak Cliff and many families come from a low Socio-Economic background, the students, parents, and faculty do not lower their expections. I am thrilled that my baby is able to thrive at this exemplary school. Peabody pushes the students towards commended performance and college readiness, but this school also provides other opportunities for the students. During every PTA meeting, the students provide entertainment in the form of singing, dancing, poetry, acting, etc.
