Curtsinger Elementary School

We've had two kids go through Curtsinger and a third going through now. While there are a handful of teachers that are good and care for the kids, there are a lot that seem to be there just to pass out worksheets and pass on information. The general atmosphere seems to be all about what's best for the teachers. Yes, the PTA is active, but so much of that is, again, teacher focused. The families are asked to do things every month for the teacher; providing lunch, birthday gifts, items for the classroom, etc. If the PTA is so grand, why can't they provide some of the basics for the classrooms. Many of the teachers use a threatening and punitive behavior management system. We are also surprised at how often we see teachers dressed as if they just rolled out of bed, and it's not even a dress up day. So many teachers in yoga pants, sweatshirts, ripped jeans. While we know it's not a formal environment, it shouldn't be hard to recognize who the teachers are. Some of the teachers are good, but there's an over-arching attitude of: of the teacher, by the teacher, and for the teacher; not nearly enough focus on the needs of the individual students.

Curtsinger is unique and offers things alot of other schools don't! The teachers, staff and leaders are amazing! The PTA Board is one of a kind! We couldn't be happier!

We have 3 kids in this school and can't be happier. School is enjoyable for all our kids which keeps them motivated and enthusiastic about going. We love the teachers and the staff who are all very good.

My son is so happy at Cursinger. He learns new things everyday, and he gets always so excited to go to school. His teacher is fantastic.
