Really big school and overwhelming. Not very warm or personable. Definitly feels like an "institution" of learning. I don't feel very welcome sometimes as a parent which was not the case at our other school so that's the only thing I don't like.

We were told that this school was superior to some of the surrounding junior highs, but in our opinion, people are just judging a book by it's cover. It's all right. Kind of jealous that our neighbors who live nearby are obsessed with how much they love MPJH and how happy their kids are there. Makes me feel like I missed out. We chose a home that fed to McMeans because it looked like a nicer school on the outside, but apparently MPJH is an amazing school in the inside. On top of that, they are getting a complete multi million dollar remodelMcMeans is alright. Lots of helicopter parents and there are spoiled kids at every school but it seems as if there are a little more than there should be at this school. Concerned about a rumored drug problem and googled and saw that a few years there was a very serious student assault on the playground. It will be a few years before out second child is old enough to attend. I guess we will take the wait and see approach.

I like the teachers and students. As a black student I don't feel singled out. But the principal is cold and impersonal and only interacts when she has no other options.

I really like this school, but sometimes, the principal seems kind of cold. I like all the counselors, and the teachers are nice. Sadly, people out of my ethnicity seem to almost think I'm weird. Overall I love the electives and I have many friends. I really love how the teachers make everything so clear for me. I've never really been bullied, but I guess it exists in all schools doesn't it? I honestly love how they push us academically so that we can remain in the top. Pushing us is a good thing. Take it from a student. What's life without a challenge?
