I rate my experience as a parent a 5 star. Although education is essential to our kids, Hayes provides much more than just education. Hayes teaches, awareness, guidance, parent support, community support, volunteer services and good values to have in and outside of school.

my daughter is now in 3rd grade; we both absolutely love this school and all the staff. she enjoys going to school and learns a lot of different things each day.

We love Hayes Elementary! After coming from an international school in Perth Australia, I was worried my son wouldn't find a school that fit for him. He has had wonderful teachers, and truly loves learning as a result of the dedication and energy of the teachers. The staff have all been welcoming, and we love that Hayes is a smaller Katy ISD school and that it is more established. I have found that contact between parents and teachers is excellent and that there are so many opportunities to make a presence in the school as a volunteer. Amazing things going on at Hayes!

The school is okay. My child started KG with most of the KG objectives already mastered. Her first report card indicated that too. She completed KG with almost the same amount of knowledge. I did not feel like the teacher tapped into her potential and worked with her at her level, but rather just let her be side lined since she already knew what was being taught. Any requests made to the teacher regarding work, or observations on my child, or goals for her were never reported back to me.By the end of the school year my daughter would be telling me she didn't like her teacher because she is always scolding the class. My daughter never felt comfortable enough to approach her teacher with any problems or requests. My daughter is very shy but I felt like the teacher did not work to understand each child and build a relationship with them. I'm not sure, but are my expectations too high?
