Have 3 kids enrolled and they really push to their limits to get the greatest education. I came from Chicago Public School system.. and WOW! Katy Taylor HS IS SOOO Much better.

My son is being taken out of this school!!! Most of his teachers are golf coaches, football coaches or soccer coach. They always tell him they have no time to help him with things he doesn't understand. One even gave him a pass to teach him after school stuff he missed well out due to medical note, the teacher didn't show up! Then Said he forgot. My son failed the test on the stuff he didn't know from that time and the teacher told him he should have tried harder to learn the stuff...really! My son is given all 100% on all homework in all the classes with coaches and then gets 15% on the test! Which shows me the teachers are not correcting the work and seeing what our kids are learning if anything. My son told me he could turn his work in, in text form and he'd still get a compilation grade of 100%. Its his senior year and we are moving him, because he wants teacher who want to teach and not, just collect a pay check or play with sports. If all these sports are so important and they don't give the teachers time to teach. Then get seperate teacher for classes and coaches! Also I went to talk to his councilor she was no help at all, all she kept telling me was she didn't know! Sad

I have a special needs child in Taylor. The school is beautiful, the staff is caring and competent, and the student population is exceptional. Highly recommend to anybody. I can't wait for my two younger children to attend.

I did not enjoy attending Taylor at all!!!! I transferred to Taylor my sophomore year and the first interaction was with a student that wanted to know which drugs I liked. The combination of wreckless kids with money, nice cars and drug habits is toxic. Be prepared to have a lot of homework and do twice the amount of work than other high schools. There are many cliques and unfortunately you have to be in one or else you won't have any friends. The counselors are totally useless and their advice for college consists of putting you in front of a computer or telling you that some people "just aren't cut out for college". The favoritism by teachers and the staff for students that have wealthy parents is painfully obvious. It's an extremely snobby, judgmental and wealthy school. Be prepared to be segregated by the amount of money your parents have, the house you live in or the car you drive.
