This is my third child to go through this district and I have watched it steadily decline.

This is an academically rigorous school. With over 50% of students participating in AP and dual credit courses, the increase in test scores may not jump as much from year to year because they are working WELL beyond their grade level! In 9th grade my daughter 's PSAT score was high enough for her to be accepted into Collin College and she is only in the top half of her class. This school is designed to prepare students for life as productive contributors to our society. Although no place is perfect, LHS works very hard to meet each student where they are BUT the student must put forth some effort. I have a student with learning differences and the district has been very supportive throughout his school career. Although there is some bullying, many of the kids have strong character and will stand up for someone they see/know is being bullied. Lovejoy ISD works to partner with parent to build character and strong ethics in our students but they are only a school district. Parents Must do their part!

Fantastic school. Smaller than some of the nearby HS but that is a plus IMO.

After an exhaustive search, we moved across the country specifically so our children could attend Lovejoy. Our high expectations were not only met, but have been consistently exceeded. The instruction is excellent with the highest caliber of staff and a supportive Administration. The HS is large enough to offer a variety of quality extracurricular activities yet small enough that students are not lost in the masses. The devotion to top-notch athletics is impressive, particularly for a school this size. The District Administration is available, dedicated, professional and strategic with immediate and long-term decisions. Parent participation is impressive and positive. My children, even after such a dramatic move, are happy in their new environment, well-received by their peers, acknowledged for their efforts, appropriately challenged to be their personal best and supported in their weaknesses. We highly recommend LISD. - edited 2015 - what a great success 9 years later. We have never regretted our move to LISD. Your children will get out of this school what they put in to it. All the support and opportunities are there, but it all starts at home. Most families are so dedicated here and the peer group is great.
