The school is decent, at best, learning wise. However, the atmosphere is toxic. Football is a big deal, however, not much else is. The kids can be brutal and it is full of typical cliques. Drugs and mental health are an issue, which goes unchecked. Overall... not great.

Not there to learn...only to compete to see which school gets the best rating. Too demanding.

I think two stars is nice. Basically, I learned close to nothing there. In my Pre-AP English II class, we did nothing. We had our teacher talk about our summer reading assignment usually. We did basic, mindless book work. I was not taught to write a proper essay until I moved away. My Spanish 2 teacher did nothing but make her students feel inadequate. I thought that it was normal, until I moved to another school and had a Spanish teacher who was really passionate about teaching. The school was very behind academically. They told me that debate was a speech credit, and now that I'm at another Texas high school, I find out I have to take speech as a senior. The kids were not the nicest, and I always felt like an outsider because I didn't really fit into any "stereotype". There's nothing to do in Midland so drugs are a problem. I think they should spend more money on the school and less on football.
