my experience has been very good, it is an excellent school, very happy that my daughters study there

To be honest this is not a bad school. This school has their flaws like any other school. My child came from another district which was more slower, so my husband and I knew we had our work cut out for us, which is why we move to Plano to get our children a better education. The whole year was great, my daughter had a really great teacher who communicated with me all through the year. She did extremely well in all her subjects, but struggled in one. All year long we were told she was fine, it's not that bad, she will be okay. Until the last week of school we were blindsided that they recommended to retain her. We constantly ask why and never got a straightforward answer. Never did they say it's because of the one subject she struggled in, because on paper she passed her test and did well on her daily work. The real reason is they used her history against her, they knew she came from a district that wasn't as good as Plano ISD, her young birthday, no pre-k or daycare experience I strongly believe they stereotype her and thought she was a risk factor. We end up having a meeting with the counselor and most of her grade teachers. I never been so offended in my life. The counselor question if my child was loved. She also ask if the home was happy and are we involved. You asked this the last week of school? Trust me you are not that concerned. I felt belittled from the counselor she made it more than it was, she was exstreamly dramatic. At that moment everyone in the room was uncomfortable to the point my daughter teacher came to our defense. They presented a power point showing her test scores and work. That power point made me more furious because it showed my daughters improvement throughout the year, she worked really hard and the slide show revealed that, so you can only imagine what I was thinking... why are we here? At the end of that meeting they unanimously moved her to the next grade with no questions asked. I was very embarrassed, angry and frustrated. They never recommend summer school to her ever, they sent a book home to her and everyone else but never stated she needed to go or what class to take. We will definitely not be coming back to this school or district and I will recommend 10 plus families not to either... This is not how I expect this school to handle business. This experience was disrespectful and disgusting.

The school has been good. The same quality and care you can expect from most Plano schools. Teachers are very caring, are available and communicate with parents. I am a big fan of the Daffron PTA.My Google review from a year ago:Off to a fantastic start. Have 4th grade triplets at the school. Teachers called ahead of time about my one child that had an IEP. They seem really on top of things.

There is a significant decline in quality with this elementary school. Over the past 4 yrs I've witnessed as a parent; 1.Their councilor yell at parents crossing through the parking lot(to avoid construction zones) while she said nothing to coworkers, 2. Coaches walking around on their cell phones, never looking up to watch students(the entire class time) while making the young students run around a park more than 200 yards away from the school. 3. More than often, teachers do not reply to phone calls or emails on time to concerned parents about studies. (They are quick to cover their mistakes with justification though). 4. At school release, it's almost daily you see teachers screaming at the 1st graders sitting on the sidewalk waiting for their rides home. 5. They expect the students and parents to keep up with the schools expectation... They are definitely not hands on. Tutoring centers here are successful for a reason. So, if you have a A+ student with a self esteem of steel and your a stay at home parent, your child will be ok. But for the rest of us working parents, a large majority, good luck. 1 star for teachers showing up for their paycheck.
